Welcome to the Maharashtra Orchestra Bar Kalakar Federation (MOBKF) — a registered organization dedicated to supporting, empowering, and protecting the vibrant yet often overlooked community of artists and workers in Maharashtra’s live performance and orchestra bar industry. Established in 2025, the federation was born out of the need to bring dignity, security, and legal recognition to thousands of talented individuals whose music, dance, and artistic expression bring joy to countless lives but who have long worked without protection or proper representation.

Our federation represents a wide range of professionals, including singers, musicians, dancers, floor artists, DJs, light and sound technicians, bar entertainers, and backstage support staff. These individuals form the heart of Maharashtra’s cultural nightlife and local entertainment economy, yet many face challenges such as job insecurity, wage exploitation, stigma, and lack of access to government welfare services. MOBKF stands as a united platform where every kalakar (artist) is respected, heard, and protected.

Our mission is to fight for fair treatment, provide legal and professional support, and create pathways for personal and artistic development. We offer a variety of essential services including legal aid, documentation and ID support, health and wellness programs, training workshops, and emergency assistance. Whether it’s helping a dancer apply for labor welfare benefits, guiding a singer through contract disputes, or providing a safety net for artists facing hardship, MOBKF is committed to being there for our members at every step.

Beyond advocacy and support, we work to celebrate and uplift the performing arts. Through community events, cultural showcases, and artist training programs, we aim to not only preserve Maharashtra’s live performance heritage but also to modernize and dignify it. We believe that entertainment workers are not just performers — they are cultural professionals, storytellers, and contributors to the state’s social and economic fabric. It is time their efforts are acknowledged with the respect and rights they deserve.

Joining the federation is open to all individuals connected to the orchestra and performance industry, regardless of age, gender, or experience. We especially welcome those who have been marginalized or silenced due to social stigma or lack of opportunity. When you become a member, you gain access to a strong, supportive community and a team working tirelessly for your future — a future with legal recognition, safer workplaces, financial security, and creative freedom.

At the Maharashtra Orchestra Bar Kalakar Federation, we are building more than an organization — we are building a movement. A movement for fairness, for visibility, and for a future where no artist has to choose between survival and self-respect. Whether you are a performer, a supporter, or someone who believes in the power of music and dance, we invite you to stand with us.

Together, let’s raise our voices — not just in song, but in solidarity.
